Don't have time to fit learn-to-swim classes in during the school term? Then Blacktown Leisure Centre, Stanhope's intensive learn-to-swim program 'Acceler8' is for you!
'Acceler8' is an intensive program that runs for the duration of the school holidays for children aged between 6 and 12 years. The program's focus is on teaching basic swimming skills and increasing competence in all four strokes.
Acceler8 will run during the Autumn School Holidays commencing Tuesday, April 14, to Friday, April 24, 2009 (excluding weekends and public holidays). To book simply complete an enrolment form in reception at the Centre or call 9421 2600 to book over the phone.
The program aims to produce strong and safe swimmers, with all instructors AUSTSWIM accredited.
Swimming is a skill for life and a great form of exercise that can help to keep you fit and toned. Most importantly, knowing how to swim greatly reduces the risk of drowning. Unfortunately, many child drownings still occur every year and many are preventable if kids are taught how to swim.
For more information or to register call Surfees Swim School on (02) 9421 2600. Alternatively, see the swim school team between 9am and noon or 4pm until 7pm weekdays.
