Blacktown Leisure Centre Stanhope will open their doors for an Active Family Fun Day from 12pm to 4pm on Sunday 3 February for an afternoon of fun water activities conducted by Royal Life Saving.

Will Mum be better than Dad in Safety Simon Says? Can you beat your brother or sister in a Noodle race? These are just a few of the activities that will be on offer at the Active Family Fun Day at Blacktown Leisure Centre Stanhope as part of their 5th Birthday celebrations from 12pm to 4pm on Sunday 3 February.

The Active Family Fun Day is an initiative of Royal Life Saving in partnership with Blacktown Leisure Centre Stanhope to encourage participation in aquatic activities, and ensure everyone knows the safety skills to enjoy their time in the water.

David Macallister, Chief Executive Officer, Royal Life Saving New South Wales, said "The Active Family Fun Day is all about participation and having a great time in the water. Royal Life Saving and Blacktown Leisure Centre Stanhope, with the support of the Sony Foundation Australia, have prepared a great afternoon of activities for all ages. Sunday will be a great opportunity for families to come to the pool and get involved, have some fun while learning some really valuable safety skills".

Activities at the Active Family Fun Day are based on Royal Life Saving's Swim and Survive program. Swim and Survive, a program of Royal Life Saving, is conducted in 8000 schools and 1000 pools nationally. Participants in the program learn swimming and aquatic survival skills and can range in age from 5-14 years.

Everyone on the day can also get active and interactive with PlayStation©2 Sing Star or bounce along in the Space Hopper races!

Activities start at 12pm with games and prize draws. Activities include - Play Safety Simon Says; Race hard and fast in Noodle Races; Learn how to Rescue and Resuscitate; Test your skills in Survival Circuit; Be part of a team in the Rescue Tube Relay.

Active Family Fun Day, Blacktown Leisure Centre Stanhope, Cnr Stanhope Parkway and Sentry Drive, Stanhope Gardens. Activities commence from 12pm.
