Thursday, July 30, 2009

The new spin studio at Blacktown Leisure Centre, Stanhope is now open - as part of the stage two developments at the Centre.

The new spin studio features 20 exercise bikes and offers members and casual visitors to the Centre a fast-pace cardiovascular workout.

Spin classes will run for 50 minutes each day at the Centre at various times and are a simulation of outdoor cycling using specially designed bikes and dynamic music. The workout is a great fat-burning workout and lower body workout.

Blacktown Leisure Centre, Stanhope will offer two styles of spin classes, see below for descriptions;

RPMTM

Is the indoor cycling workout where you ride to the rhythm of powerful music. Take on the terrain with your inspiring team coach who leads the pack through hills, flats, mountain peaks, time trials and interval training, controlling the intensity of your workout with a resistance dial and pedal speed. Discover your athlete within - sweat and burn to reach your endorphin high.

REVS

Is a freestyle 50-minute indoor cycling class based on outdoor riding. You ride to inspirational music over the equivalent of 20 - 25 kilometres of varied terrain. Switch off and imagine you are in the Tour de France, or perhaps enjoying a cross country ride through the Blue Mountains... grab a Body Bike and get set for an exhilarating cardio experience.

Classes are open to Blacktown Leisure Centre, Stanhope members and casual visitors. Participants must be over the age of 15 years and should arrive early to classes with a water bottle and towel.
